I can replicate that issue when using OpenGL renderer, it's very weird, but with Vulkan it's fine (or at least it works). You have a GTX480 and apparently the Fermi install base is too small for Nvidia to bother implementing support for Vulkan. https://youtu.be/nGkpPp2tGSs?t=46m25s
You can still try and see what happens, it's on the GPU tab of Configuration. Also make sure the PPU Interpreter is set to fast, it helps quite a bit with performance.
